Frequently Asked
Do I need a diagnosis before booking?
No. Many people come because they are experiencing pain, movement difficulty, stress-related symptoms or changes in health and wellbeing but do not yet have a clear diagnosis.
Assessment forms an important part of the consultation process. If I believe further medical investigation is needed, I will discuss this with you and advise you accordingly.
Do you diagnose medical conditions?
As a Chartered Physiotherapist, I assess and identify musculoskeletal, movement and functional issues within my professional scope. I do not diagnose medical conditions outside my expertise or replace the role of your GP, consultant or other healthcare professionals.
Where appropriate, I may recommend further investigation, referral or collaboration.
Do I stop seeing my GP or other healthcare providers?
No. My work complements rather than replaces appropriate medical care. I encourage clients to maintain communication with their GP, consultant or other providers where relevant.
Is this counselling or psychotherapy?
No. Sessions may include discussion of stress, lifestyle, habits, emotional wellbeing and the influence of lived experience on physical health, but this work is not counselling, psychotherapy or crisis support.
If specialist psychological support would be beneficial, I will encourage referral to an appropriately qualified professional.
What is the difference between Physio and Integrative Body Work?
Physio is a clinical service focused on assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of pain, injury, movement dysfunction and physical-health concerns.
Integrative Body Work takes a broader whole-person approach. While grounded in physiotherapy training and clinical experience, it may incorporate myofascial release, acupressure, nervous-system regulation, breathwork, body awareness, guided inquiry and lifestyle education.
Is Hormone Yoga suitable for everyone?
No. Before beginning, we discuss your health history, symptoms and relevant medical conditions. Where necessary, I may recommend modifications, alternatives or consultation with your healthcare provider.
What happens if further investigation is needed?
I will discuss my concerns openly and explain why further medical investigation or referral may be appropriate. Most referrals are precautionary and form part of good clinical practice.
My aim is to help ensure you receive the right support, from the right person, at the right time.
