Ruth Molloy — Catalyst
Integrative Physiotherapist | Physiology Researcher | Writer | Educator | Yoga Teacher
Ruth Molloy is a physiotherapist, physiology researcher, writer, and educator whose work explores the relationship between the body, the nervous system, and lived experience. With more than thirty years of clinical experience spanning physiotherapy, trauma-informed bodywork, yoga, men's and women's health, menopause education, and research in health, she works at the meeting point of science, intuition, and embodied understanding.
Known for her ability to recognise the patterns people carry in their bodies, Ruth helps individuals make sense of the places where physical symptoms, stress, life experiences, and long-held survival strategies intersect. Her work supports people through periods of challenge, change, and transition, whether they are navigating chronic pain, nervous system overload, recovery, menopause, loss, illness, or a growing sense that old ways of living no longer fit.
Through hands-on practice, teaching, writing, and speaking, Ruth helps people understand what their bodies have been carrying, acknowledge and integrate the experiences that have shaped them, and move forward with greater strength, resilience, clarity, and embodied authority. At the heart of this work is deep listening and the creation of a compassionate space where people feel safe enough to be honest, to feel seen and to allow their own truth to emerge.
Nature, Community, Connection
Health is held by more than clinical hours.
Her work is informed not only by science and clinical experience, but also by a lifelong appreciation for the role that nature, community, movement and meaningful relationships play in supporting health and wellbeing. Alongside her clinical and educational work, Ruth is actively involved in community-based nature and wellbeing initiatives. She has a deep belief in the restorative power of connection. Connection to ourselves, to one another and to the natural world.

The body often tells the truth before we are ready to hear it. Ruth has just learned to listen.

Professional Background
Thirty years, three countries, one question.
I am a Chartered Physiotherapist with more than thirty years of clinical experience, a former Registered General Nurse, a Physiology Researcher, Women's Health Educator, Yoga Teacher, Writer and Speaker.
My work has developed through physiotherapy, chronic pain, mental health, rehabilitation, women's health, menopause research, Hormone Yoga, movement, nervous-system education and trauma-informed bodywork. I have worked with thousands of people in Ireland, Switzerland and Scotland as a clinician, facilitator, educator and yoga teacher.
My early professional interest in the relationship between physical and emotional health led me to complete both of my final-year physiotherapy placements in mental-health settings and undertake research exploring the role of physiotherapy in mental health.
Long before embodiment, nervous-system regulation and somatic practice became widely used terms, physiotherapy was taught through a biopsychosocial lens. We understood that pain, health and recovery are rarely influenced by physical factors alone. Thoughts, beliefs, experiences, relationships, stress, behaviour and environment all matter.
My Masters research at the University of Galway examined a physiotherapist-led programme combining menopause education, yoga-based movement and behaviour-change strategies. The research deepened what I had already witnessed clinically: human health is not divided neatly into physical, emotional, relational or spiritual compartments. Everything is connected.
The Bridge Between Worlds
I work from both directions at once.
What makes my approach unique is that I work from both directions simultaneously. Many practitioners work primarily with the body; others with thoughts and emotions. For more than thirty years, I have worked at the meeting point between the two, helping people understand the patterns shaping their health, relationships, behaviours and lives.
I understand the mechanics of the body and the stories it carries. I understand movement, pain, physiology and function, while also recognising the influence of stress, emotion, adaptation and lived experience.
I am a bridge between the old and the new, science and intuition, knowledge and embodiment. Between what can be measured and what can only be known when we become quiet enough to listen.

How I Work
I will walk alongside you, but I will not carry you.
I work with compassion, honesty and a healthy respect for the wisdom of the body.
I can only meet you as deeply as you are willing to meet yourself, and while I will walk alongside you, I will not carry you. Meaningful change requires participation. Curiosity is important, but so is action. Insight without action rarely changes anything.
My role is not to sit quietly nodding while you tell me the same story for the next ten years. My role is to listen deeply, recognise patterns, share what I see, offer guidance, ask good questions and, when needed, challenge the things that may be keeping you stuck.
I bring knowledge, experience, perspective and a fresh set of eyes. You bring willingness, honesty and participation. Together we create the conditions for meaningful change. My intention is not to create dependence. It is to support greater understanding, self-trust and health sovereignty.
Ultimately, the goal is not for you to need me forever. The goal is for you to understand yourself well enough to navigate your own path with greater confidence, awareness and resilience.
